New Book!
Over spring break I started a new book called "Each Little Bird That Sings" by Deborah Wiles. In this book, it tells the story through a little girls perspective. A little girl who lives in a funeral home and must deal with the worst thing possible every waking second of her life- death. She writes hundreds of obituaries day in and day out, and hasn't had to deal with her own family death quite yet. Little does she know, her uncle is about to face death. He was so cheerful and such an upbeat person that she didn't see this coming. He dies instantly from a heart attack and "is in a better place now". Right after dealing with that dreadful death, her great-great aunt Florentine passed away gardening. Comfort, the little girl, is happy that her great-great aunt Florentine died doing something she loved- planting tomatoes- something her uncle enjoyed. A couple days before her aunts funeral, she asks her friend Declaration to meet up with her at their "secret rock" hiding spot in the woods. Declaration is a little more girly-girl then Comfort, and tells Comfort that she no longer wants to hike up the rock to meet her anymore. She said she would attend her aunts funeral, but that it'd be the last one because it wasn't very lady like to see the dead. Comfort was not very comforted by Declarations decision, but she had to respect that she's growing into a woman, and know's that she shouldn't stand in the way of that.

Sorry!
I know I haven't posted at all recently, but I'm almost finished with the book- only a few more pages to go! Since the last time I've read, a lot of significant events have happened. Theresa and Barney have proved themselves wrong, but before even that had happened, they were captured by the maneqans. While in the crate, Theresa pulled the fire alarm, and sat and watched as the store turned from dark and dry, to fiery red and sopping wet. The maneqans were very upset with her, and put them back on trial saying that they convincted yet another fellony. Only one of the maneqans is on their side, and she is trying her best to win over the trial.

Today, I read from pages 96-109 during DEAR. A lotof significant events happened in these pages, such as another night at the mall. The young girl was complaining about the young boys sense of style, so she made him go down a few floors to change out of his ragety lumber jack sweater. While he was donig that, the girl thought that she would go on the same floor to the Junior Miss section and put on new clothes too. She thought that if her and the boy were wearing different clothes, they would stick out as much. While she was putting on her new clothes, she noticed a fairly pretty maneqan, with glossy red lips and blonde curls. She noticeed in the distance an outline of the young boys figure, and the outline of another mans figure. All of a sudden the maneqan did a judo move on her and in a second she had a silky scarf gagging her. The maneqan and the the new boy took her and her friend, Barney and Teresa, and led them into a room full of lush carpet and more blackness. The maneqan stepped aside from Teresa, turned on the lights, and blinded Teresa and Barney temporarily. Once they focused there eyes, they noticed a bunch of new, tagged furniture and even more maneqan children lounging around. Once the maneqan that had teresa gagged called the meeting to order, all of a sudden the room came to life. All of the maneqans came to life and were talking so softly, that it seemed as a "foreign language" that she could hear. The girl maneqan talked and talked about a trial, and how it was unfair that these "intruders" were here, and suddenly a maneqan that looked like a chef came in the room. The chef maneqan called the meeting to a pause so that the food for the maneqans would still be good.

Today I read yet another few pages. The little girl was told to run off and find her mother, so that her mother could buy the adorable outfit they made her put on. She had no time to explain to the woman that her mother was not at the mall, so she ran off to find her friend in the underwear department, and there they went off into the vast world of shoppers.

Today, I only read one page, and not much happened. The college group had started to re-dress the innocent little girl, and started attaching white blouses, green skirts and new socks onto her. The girl oddly liked the new look, and liked that they kept her old sweatshirt on underneath the white blouse. She thought it gave it a little something extra.

Yesterday I read from pages 57-72. The kids were still lerking around the mall in the pitch black, and they could faintly hear the security mans TV. The young girl had to feel her way to the bathroom, and when she was done they found a deli part of the store. The young boy cupped out what they thought was rice pudding, but wasn't whatsoever. They both went back up to under the beds in the Sealy store, and when they awoke the store was very busy. They agreed to part their ways and meet back at noon in the underwear section of the Macys. While the young girl was pretending to look at the coat section, a group of trainees in the Junior Miss section was walking by One of the trainees asked their instructor if the instructor would help a customer, so that they could see how she truly works. The instructor pointed out the young girl, and also pointed out the young girls fashion no-no's.

Today I read from pages 43-56. The girl and the boy doze off underneath the bed matress, and a night shift watchman made his rounds. The watchmans cat had snuck under the bed and laid down on both the boy and the girls head, but they contained themselves so that they wouldn't get caught. Once the night watchman made his rounds, he went on upstairs to watch the "Late Night Show". Once he had left, the boy and the girl went around, trying to fufill their stomaches. They went down one floor and smelt the sweet smell of cheese- they were in the wine and cheese part of the "fancy" store. Once they past that smell, then came the over-powering smell of rich perfumes.
